CYPRUS COMPANY REGISTRATION
The name of the company should be approved by
the Registrar of companies. Each company should
prepare a Memorandum (Charter) and Articles of
Association, which describe the rules and regulations
on how the business will be governed and also the
permitted activities.
The authorised and paid up capital of the company
must be a minimum of ˆ2000 for most companies.
For special types of companies such as insurance
companies or banks the authorised and paid up
capital is higher. (there is no maximum capital).
Capital may be increased in the future by special
resolution by shareholders.
The process of registration and receipt of all
documentation required by law takes approximately 3
weeks. Bearer shares are not permitted. The company
must have at least one shareholder. Information on
shareholders, directors, secretary and registered
office is kept at the Registrar of Companies and it is
available to the public.
Shareholders can be physical or legal persons of
any nationality.
